Pravara Institute of Research and Education in Natural and Social Sciences (PIRENS), established in the year 1983 as non government organiztion with a mission, was conceived by the eminent visionary Hon. Shri. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil foe rural development models. The institute functions as a major research center and change agent in different areas of agriculture economics as well as orgnization, implementation and management of different projects. Broad activities of PIRENS are classified in five areas:

A course in management studies forms an integral part of an individual's education. To face the requirement and competition of the global corporate world and simultaneously to inculcate a moral responsibility in the modern youth, PIRENS-Institute of Business Management and Administration, introduced the two-year P.G Program (Master of Business Administration) This Program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE, New Delhi) and affiliated to University Of Pune, Pune in the year 1993 with an intake of 30 initially. Today institute has an intake of 120.
